I just went back and read some of your posts on Portland. Yes, it will be a big change for you but You will love it there. I lived in Seattle for 4 years before moving to OKC and am so ready to move away from this backwards place. If you get the chance take amtrac up to Seattle for a weekend.
I spent a month in Seattle in 2001. It's a very nice city. :-)
